Lockport home mixes old-world character and modern flair

Staff Report

Traditional or modern?

As far as Beechen & Dill Homes is concerned, home buyers don’t have to choose, a philosophy evident in the home builder’s award winning Keystone design.

Recognized as the SouthWest Suburban Home Builders Association’s Home of the Month for July 2012, the Keystone offers a dynamic mix of old-world character and modern flair.

“We dedicate ourselves to creating homes that have distinctive style alongside the modern amenities buyers seek and the Keystone is a perfect representation of that mission,” Beechen & Dill Homes Director of Sales Bob Williams said.

Located at 16728 W. Huntington Drive in Lockport’s Creekside Estates South community, the 2,900-square-foot, four bedroom, two and a half bathroom, Keystone is currently available for immediate occupancy at the price of $389,990 for a limited time.

The Keystone shines in its details.

On the outside, a Nantucket-inspired seaside style arrives courtesy of a lantern-style light fixture, shake shingles, tongue-in-groove porch ceiling, carriage-style doors for an extra deep three car garage, and a covered front porch punctuated by stone columns and white railings. An upgraded exterior featuring stone accents, a fully sodded yard, and a concrete driveway and front walkway further boosts curb appeal.

Inside, a dining room with crown molding, tray ceiling, and custom wainscoting highlights the Keystone’s insistence on oldworld charm and craftsmanship. Oak railings and tray ceilings in all four bedrooms continue that focus. The main level also includes a two-story great room with gas fireplace and custom mantle, a spacious den with French doors and a mudroom.

“The Keystone showcases our commitment to build homes that are distinctive in their look and design,” Williams said.

Yet just as quickly as the Keystone ushers us into yesteryear charm, it hurls us into the future with an open floor plan packed with some of the day’s most sought after home buyer desires.

An open concept kitchen, ideal for entertaining as much as daily life, features an oversized preparation island, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances layered over rich hardwood floors. On the second story, a spacious deluxe master suite features dual adult height vanities, oversized porcelain tiles with mosaic borders and the separate tub/shower arrangement.

“The Keystone is so unique because it pairs traditional design elements alongside 21st century features,” Williams said.

Maintaining its eye on value and efficiency, the Keystone includes Environments for Living energy certification, a full basement with rough-in plumbing, a 30-year architectural shingle and low-maintenance LP Smart Side composite siding. Capping off Beechen & Dill’s insistence on quality is an industry-leading 10- year structural warranty.

“We want our homes to be right in line with today’s buyers’ needs, which includes optimizing the home’s footprint and ensuring its quality construction,” Williams said.

The Keystone is Creekside Estates’ second Home of the Month honoree in the last year, as the SSHBA recognized the Aspen last September.

“These awards underscore how much we dedicate ourselves to high-quality, cutting-edge homes that stand out from the competition,” said Beechen & Dill Homes President Matt Dill, the Home Builder Association of Illinois’ 2011 Builder of the Year recipient.

Creekside Estates South offers six home plans starting in the low $300,000s alongside Lockport’s growing list of amenities, including a historic downtown, two Interstate 355 interchanges, a Metra rail station, an expanding commercial base and the decorated Lockport High School.
